Riding in the back of a pickup truck can be dangerous, since it is easy for a person to fall out of the bed of the truck. However, this is a situation that many construction workers commonly find themselves in while working in California or in any other state. However, this can result in serious injuries stemming from construction workers’ accidents.
This is exactly what had recently occurred in a construction accident early one morning in late July. The construction worker was riding in the back of a pickup truck, which had also been hauling a bulldozer. The man somehow ended up falling from the bed of the truck, and he was subsequently run over by another vehicle passing by.
The driver and the worker who was killed were digging holes for concrete footings. The job site was located in a part of town that was currently under construction. The local police, as well as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), are looking into the incident further. The authorities have not released the identity of the decedent, and they have not made statements regarding the potential causes of the accident.
This fatal incident shows what could happen to a construction worker if he or she is not careful. Construction workers’ accidents can occur at any site in California or any other state. Therefore, it is important for construction workers to be aware of their legal rights in the case of being injured at work. Many times, injured construction workers will qualify for benefits from the workers’ compensation insurance fund.
