Cause of construction workers’ accidents should be investigated

On Behalf of | Apr 14, 2021 | Firm News

When a construction accident occurs, it is important to investigate the incident in order to determine the possible causes. This is particularly important when injuries have occurred in California or in any other state. Finding out the causes of construction workers’ accidents can help in taking preventative measures to ensure that the same type of accident does not happen again. This is what work safety authorities are looking to do as they investigate a recent construction accident.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is expected to send investigators to find out what exactly happened. The incident happened one morning in late December at a company’s new headquarters that is currently under construction. Two workers were reportedly injured in the accident. The injured workers were quickly transported to a nearby medical facility via airlift.

The identities of the workers have yet to be released to the public. Also, the current conditions of the injured workers are still unknown. The contractor company that hired the two subcontractors has sent its own safety consultants in order to determine how the accident may have occurred. The contractor company is now waiting on the results of the investigations in order to see if there are any adjustments needed in order to ensure the future safety of workers.

On the other hand, no matter what the cause of the construction accident, those injured in construction workers’ accidents in California, or any other state, may have the option of filing for benefits via workers’ compensation. This can be helpful especially after the injured workers are released from the hospital and may face significant medical bills. However, one must make sure to follow the correct legal procedures when applying for benefits. In some cases, it may be necessary to take legal action if a claim is initially rejected.
