Industrial accidents may happen at energy plants

On Behalf of | Apr 14, 2021 | Firm News

Energy resources are important for any society, including here in the United States. In order for energy resources, such as fossil fuels, to be utilized in California or any other state, it is necessary to have industrial plants used to process the resources into usable forms. However, these industrial plants can also be prone to industrial accidents.

Tragically, this is what happened to one man who was killed in a recent accident at an industrial plant operated by ExxonMobil. The incident happened one afternoon in late November while the worker was killed during a construction project. The contractor was an employee of Group which was being subcontracted by ExxonMobil to perform work at the industrial plant.

Emergency personnel immediately responded to the incident by attending to the injured employee. However, despite their best efforts, they were unable to save the man. He ended up dying as a result of his injuries suffered in the accident. The cause of the accident has yet to be determined. Plant officials are continuing their investigation into the incident.

It is unfortunate that industrial accidents are sometimes a part of the process necessary to process energy for society to use in California and elsewhere. However, the family of the decedent will be suffering the most out of everybody else as a result of the incident. This can be particularly difficult if the man was a significant part of the family’s household income. On the other hand, the family may be able to obtain some financial assistance through workers’ compensation insurance.
